Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing 10 to 13 y.o. - FRENCH

Description 

This activity is only offered in French.
With a certified Ski de fond Québec instructor, your child will discover the basic techniques of this classic winter sport while having fun! During this two-hour lesson, your child will play educational games to help them enjoy being active in the snow!

Level : beginner 

Equipement

It is possible to do the activity with your own equipment or to use GUEPE equipment (skis, boots and poles). To use GUEPE equipment, you must select a ticket marked "equipment included". Otherwise, we cannot guarantee availability.

GUEPE equipment is free for children up to 17 years old residing in the Urban Agglomeration of Montreal, thanks to a financial contribution from the city of Montréal (see Terms and Conditions).

Selecting equipment size:

Boots can be selected on site at the equipment counter, but your ski category must be specified at the time of booking. Please select your category carefully: if it does not fit, we cannot guarantee that the right size will be available at the time of the activity.

Please use the table below to determine your ski category. In the event of size/weight incompatibility, please prioritize weight when choosing a category. 

Terms and Conditions

• Participants must be between 10 and 13 years old to participate. 
• An adult responsible for the child must have completed and signed the Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Risks form (use the family form), which can be found in the “My Account” section when you create an account on our platform.

To take advantage of the free equipment for resident children:  

• A participant must be 17 or under and reside in the Urban Agglomeration of Montréal (not to be confused with the Communauté Métropolitaine de Montréal). An official ID with proof of age and address will be required at the rental counter.
• This offer is limited to 4 children per family and does not apply to groups of children (e.g. school, community, etc.).
• This offer is for a limited time only.

‍Reservation

• Reservation required. 
• Online payments by credit card only. 
• Take advantage of an $8 discount on the total after taxes for every four reservations in your shopping cart​! 

‍Cancellation Policy ‍ 

• Your reservation is non refundable, unless it was cancelled by GUEPE.  
• GUEPE reserves the right to cancel the activity if the minimum number of participants is not met or due to unfavorable conditions (weather, trail conditions, etc.). In such a case, the GUEPE team will contact you at least 24 hours before the activity.  

Good to Know

• The reservation is for one activity. 
• There is a maximum of 10 people per activity. 
• It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early so that the activity may start on time.  
• Some parks are large and have several entrances. We recommend making sure you enter the right address in your GPS to get to the right location. 
• There is a fee to park in the nature parks. For more information, please visit the city of Montréal's website.  
• To make the most of your activity, please dress for the weather.
